Instruction

Instruction in Karate is given by a team of instructors with many years of experience.

  Warren Wagler (4th dan ZDK, 4th dan Iaido) is the Assistant to the Chief Instructor and handles most of the training for lower belts.  He practices Karate, Iaido, and Jodo.   Warren has won the Canadian Iaido Championship and international championships representing Canada on Team Canada.
   
  Mike Moffatt (5th dan ZDK) is a senior instructor in in the ZDK.  Mike began in the ZDK over 40 years ago.  A retired Platoon Chief, Mike had a long career as a firefighter.  He trains and instructs in both Oshawa and Peterborough.
   
John Bayes (7th dan ZDK) is the Chief Instructor of the Oshawa ZDK.  John began training with the ZDK over 45 years ago in the mid-1970's.  John also trains and instructs on the Peterborough floor.   A pilot and aircraft mechanic, John spends some of his time flying in many countries around the world.
   
Jim Wilson (7th dan ZDK, 6th dan Iaido) is the Chief Director of Instruction for the ZDK.  Jim has had over 40 years experience in various martial arts, training in the ZDK for all this time.  He runs the Iaido group in Oshawa and the Kenshokan Dojo in Peterborough where he teaches both ZDK Karate and Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iaido.  Jim is often a guest instructor with the Oshawa ZDK.
